The Fish
We catch quality eating fish such as red emperor, coral trout and Spanish mackerel are also plentiful in Townsville waters. Australia’s premier sportfish, the barramundi is another great eating fish. Or try for an equally good cod or fingermark.
Bluewater anglers will enjoy casting surface lures for GT and queenfish and cobia. The northern bluefin (longtail) tuna are speedsters that fight hard!
And if you want to try something different, you can even walk a mountain stream in search of exotic and challenging jungle perch and sooty grunter.

Our TOWNSVILLE FISHING CHARTER OPTIONS options are operated from Townsville ports with FULL DAY fishing charters extend from 6am – 2/3pm. HALF DAY fishing charters begin at 6am finishing between 10.30/11am.
Fish City’s BUDGET BAY charters commence 7am, finish 11am and are restricted to a 10nm (18km) radius from Townsville Port.
general charter information
Mixed crews or share charter attract a pro-rata rates and a minimum number are required to undertake a charter at those rates. Applicable only to FULL DAY charters.
Please note that offshore bluewater options only allow a maximum of 3 passengers.
For groups greater than this we utilise other fully surveyed and licensed vessels.
Fish City Charters does not undertake overnight charters.
Road travel to launch destinations beyond 1hr drive from Townsville City may incur additional fees.
DEPOSITS
Bookings generally require a 20% holding deposit payable 28 days prior charter with the balance due prior charter date. This can be paid via EFT upon receipt of invoice or credit card. EFTPOS facilities are also available.
Cancellations
Booking deposits are non-refundable should the charter be cancelled within 7 days of trip without extenuating circumstances – excepting cancellations by Fish City Charters due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions when which full deposits will be refunded.
GIFT VOUCHERS
Offering a 12-month expiry, Fish City Charters Gift Certificates allows the lucky recipient to choose their fishing dates (subject to prior bookings) and preferred style of fishing.
These certificates can be sent either electronically for your convenience, or by mail.
