Our Charter Boat

Fish City Charters operates a 5.8 metre Sportsman Island Reef 19, a versatile centre-console fishing boat ideally suited to Townsville’s estuary, inshore and bluewater fishing. Its layout provides plenty of usable fishing space while allowing us to move comfortably between shallow-water fishing and offshore grounds as conditions permit.

Built for Townsville Fishing

The Sportsman Island Reef 19 combines a practical fishing layout with the versatility needed for the variety of waters we fish around Townsville. At 5.8 metres, it is equally at home working estuaries and sheltered inshore waters or heading into bluewater when weather and sea conditions are suitable.

Power, Electronics & Boat Control

The boat is powered by a 150 hp Yamaha outboard and equipped with Garmin and Humminbird electronics to assist with navigation, depth, structure and locating fish. A 36-volt Minn Kota bow-mount electric motor provides precise boat control when working lures, structure and productive fishing areas.

Designed for Small-Group Charters

Fish City Charters deliberately operates with small groups, giving anglers more fishing space and allowing Eddie to provide a more personalised experience. The vessel is in AMSA survey for up to four passengers plus skipper, with a maximum of three passengers on offshore charters.

Safety & Survey

The Sportsman Island Reef 19 operates in AMSA survey and carries the safety equipment required for its commercial operation. Charter destinations and fishing areas are always selected with consideration for the prevailing weather, sea conditions and the vessel’s operational limits.

Comfortable, Practical Fishing Space

The open centre-console layout provides plenty of usable deck space for casting, lure fishing and working fish around the boat. With small charter groups, anglers have room to fish comfortably without the crowding often associated with larger shared charter vessels.
